In late 2009 Beccus was invited to sit in front of the Orinda City Library as part of their Art in Public Places Program for a period of 2 years.

The Art in Public Places Program (APP) was established in 2007 by the Orinda City Council to advance the vision of art and culture in the City of Orinda. The mission of the APP is to recognize artists as important cultural resources and to bring the work of artists into the community, broadening public awareness, understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts.

I am honored to announce that I have placed Ryoken II on loan at the fabulous Tucson Jewish Community Center for the opening of their new sculpture park. The work is the signature piece and is featured on the brochures and literature about the park. In addition I was interviewed by the Arizona Public Media station, which ran spots about the event on both television and radio in the weeks before the opening November 15, 2009. Here are links to sites that feature information about the event:

  • Sculpturesite Gallery

I am pleased to announce I have placed six of my sculptures from the Totem series with the San Francisco gallery Sculpturesite. This is Northern California's only gallery to emphasize sculpture and they handle acclaimed and emerging artists working in a variety of media. We selected cast iron and bronze to show, including one which is not featured on this website. I invite you to view my work on their website or in person.

  • Group Show at the Oakland Airport

Between the end of July and October 2007, two pieces of my Totem series will be on display at the Oakland Airport. This is part of an Oakland Museum sponsored group show which involves several of my Crucible compatriots. I will add more concise information as the museum releases it, but I know this much: you MUST be flying to or from Oakland to view the show! There is no official opening yet, however I am trying to persuade.
